One of Equestria's rare hybrid species, the Kirinpony. Born of ponies and kirins, and displaying an even fusion of the two races. They have carried on due to their high number in ages past, despite their kirin ancestors disappearing. They often hide behind illusions or stay in their amongst their own, unless they decide to use their exotic looks to their advantage or are more interested in socializing.
They carry the shape of a pony for the most part, similar to an average unicorn. Leaning more toward the slim shape, and bearing a long horn with a blade-like shape. In place of a pony's furred coat, though, there is one of fine scales that come in nearly any color or pattern. The fur lining their underside, face, and bac of their limbs can contrast greatly from their scales at times. A Kirinpony's mane and tail are much like a normal pony's. Differences include a brighter shine and finer hair. The tail base is also a little longer with scales atop, and the hair along the bottom and tip.
The magic of the Kirinponies is largely elemental, and includes more than the base air, earth, water, and fire. Other elements such as light, nature, and darkness are also possible. They can perform other types of magic, but their best and strongest abilities and spells lie in their element. It's not clear what decides each kirinpony's element, but it always seems to suit them in some special way. Even if they become skilled in other elements or magics, they tend to have a special skill related to a single element
